Post-Publication Discussion
The International Journal of Enterprise Modelling (IEIA) encourages scholarly discussion and constructive academic exchange regarding articles published in the journal. The journal recognizes that post-publication discussion is an important part of the scientific process, supporting the validation of research findings, the clarification of scientific arguments, and the continuous improvement of scholarly knowledge.
1. Purpose and Scope
Post-publication discussion provides an opportunity for researchers, academics, practitioners, and readers to raise questions, offer critical comments, identify potential errors, and discuss the methodology, findings, interpretations, or implications of published articles.
All contributions must be relevant to the published research, supported by appropriate evidence, and presented in a professional and respectful manner.
2. Submission of Comments
Readers who wish to comment on a published article may contact the editorial office of IEIA and provide the following information:
-
The title, author(s), and DOI or URL of the article being discussed.
-
A clear explanation of the issue, question, or scientific argument.
-
Supporting evidence, references, data, or other relevant documentation, where applicable.
-
The name and institutional affiliation of the submitting contributor.
The editorial team will assess whether the submission is relevant to the journal's scope and meets the standards of academic integrity and scholarly communication.
3. Editorial Assessment and Review
Post-publication comments may be subject to editorial assessment and, where necessary, independent peer review. The journal evaluates submissions based on their scientific relevance, accuracy, clarity, originality, and contribution to scholarly discussion.
The editorial team may request revisions, additional evidence, or clarification before making a publication decision. Submissions containing unsupported allegations, defamatory statements, personal attacks, or inappropriate content will not be accepted.
4. Right of Reply
When a post-publication comment raises substantive concerns about a published article, the original author(s) may be invited to provide a response. The journal aims to ensure a fair and balanced discussion by giving the authors a reasonable opportunity to address the issues raised.
The decision to publish a comment and any corresponding response rests with the editorial team, based on academic merit and the journal's editorial policies.
5. Corrections and Retractions
If post-publication discussion identifies credible concerns regarding the accuracy, reliability, or integrity of a published article, the journal will investigate the matter in accordance with its publication ethics policies.
Depending on the findings, the journal may publish a correction, an expression of concern, or a retraction, where appropriate. All editorial actions will be based on the available evidence and communicated transparently to preserve the integrity of the scholarly record.
6. Ethical Standards
All participants in post-publication discussion must adhere to the principles of academic integrity, professional conduct, objectivity, and respect. Comments must not contain plagiarism, fabricated evidence, undisclosed conflicts of interest, personal attacks, or other forms of research or publication misconduct.
The journal reserves the right to decline or remove inappropriate contributions in accordance with its policies and applicable ethical standards.
7. Publication and Accessibility
Accepted post-publication comments and responses may be published on the journal's website or through another appropriate scholarly publication format. Where applicable, the journal will provide clear references to the original article and maintain links between the article, comments, responses, and any subsequent corrections or retractions.
The International Journal of Enterprise Modelling (IEIA) is committed to fostering an open, transparent, evidence-based, and respectful environment for post-publication scholarly discussion.
